Today’s featured art is Balloon Lomo Effect by Brenda Anderson
I love balloons! This photograph has captured the fleeting spirit of a perfect moment in time.
The spectator viewpoint is excellent and the composition is incredible. The color harmony of nature is spectacular in person and this photo shows it off to perfection.
The white mat echoes the white of the clouds and helps to keep the balloons in movement. I feel as if they will float over to me any moment in the wind I can see happening.
Great photography! Wonderful subject!

Today’s featured art is Water in the Desert by Anne Vis
Water is not what people expect when thinking of deserts. Anyone who knows me knows I love contrast and surprises in paintings.
This lovely peaceful desert landscape showing a cactus next to the water - is it a lake? Is it a tiny oasis? I think this may be sunset … but it could just as easily be sunrise too.
I love the color harmony in this painting and the soft watercolor -y wash type effect in the sky with its perfect complementary match in the water below. The stillness of the water brings a serene restful feeling and alleviates the harsh, dry, arid desert and distant rock formations.
The mat chosen is a marvel in taking the sunlight and circling it around the painting and the gold frame is a great choice to round out the sunshine roundelay. I can hear the desert singing in this painting. Can you hear it too?
