9 - Grand Canyon by Will Borden
I’ve never been to the Grand Canyon - it is a dream to finally see it one of these days. I love rocks and canyons - canyon rock layers remind me of forests though the tree layers in all the tree trunks are quite hidden. The rock canyon layers are out in the open where we can all see them and a forest hides it’s most secret layers away … a forest comes with many layers that are seen as well as in the groves of trees, bark, leaves, surrounding vegetation. Canyons and forests with their layers are very similar to the variety of people in the world … some are very transparent in their layers while others secret them away not to be seen.

The opposing colors in these rock layers are spectacular - fleeting light - an awe inspiring moment - nature’s best contrast on display and center stage, gorgeous trees. The contrasting cool background against the warm foreground with a crescent circular movement leads the eye around and through all the interesting textures, shapes and colors. The trees give me a real sense of proportion of the immense space, height and breadth of the rocks and the Grand Canyon. Excellent photography.
