Rising Sun by J Velasco

Reds, oranges and pinks with some of the purple family there too are not the easiest to harmonize into a painting. I love the soft relaxing yet energetic feel to this lovely scene.

This painting would be a marvelous gift for Mother’s Day … I would frame it in a dark brown frame to match the building … or maybe a dark cherry wood? Or maybe one of the frameless glass frames with clips that I like so much … that would let this painting pop right off the wall … if the wall were peach maybe … or white … pink would work too I think. I would not use a mat … I would want the frame right next to the lovely painting.

This is gorgeous and very well done!

(Rose with) Water Drops by Sandra Idleman

I love the texture of this rose … the close up nature of the photo with the water drops is gorgeous … similar in idea to Georgia O’Keeffe’s flower paintings.

The texture kind of looks like fruit texture form this perspective and viewpoint … I wouldn’t recommend taking a bite out of it … but it looks luscious enough to eat just as if it were a peach or tangerine instead of a rose … no thorns in sight though … just water drops as if a lovely rain came along and washed it clean of any mown grass or insect droppings.
