Two Days from Lisbon by Bill Wright
Today’s featured art is Two Days from Lisbon by Bill Wright
I love sailing ships and seascapes. This is a lovely vision of travel back before airplanes and oil powered cruise ships.
My friend JGoode (visit the Tuesdays Topic Meme Hub) chose travel for this week’s Tuesdays Topic because she was traveling. I thought about reviewing an outer space theme and this artist had lots of gorgeous work around that subject but he also has a Sea Fantasy Gallery … so guess what I chose to review today?
Speaking of traveling, I discovered last nite that they are having a Kite Fest in South Padre Island this week-end. It is miserable icky outside tonite - today was quite windy though … I have to take Miss Sugar Plum to the Vet on Saturday and I am going to go get my hair permed in the afternoon …. I am trying to decide if I want to drive 5 or 6 hours from Katy to South Padre Island to go for a couple hours or not. If I had known earlier, I could have re-arranged my schedule and asked for a vacation day off work to go see all of it the entire week-end.
I’m thinking next year would probably be a better idea … and there is one in March in Austin at Zilker Park - Austin is only a couple hours away … and I have not bought a new kite this year yet anyway. I’ve been having trouble deciding which one I want to get.
I like the frame and mat chosen for this artwork - it is rather unusual a combination but I like it very well - it adds a lot of depth to this seascape.
